Hearty Smoothie…

I love smoothies and enjoy making my own versions of them. I recently discovered a new addicting way of making one and will probably never stray from it!! It is hearty..in that I incorporated flax in the recipe.

This may sound a bit strange…but I highly suggest trying it!!

You’ll need:

A blender
1 banana (I like to freeze mine ahead of time)
Any other fruits you think would be tasty ( I used blueberries once..turned out splendid)
1 1/2 cup of almond milk (I use unsweetened vanilla –very low in calories)
1/2 tsp or more of chinese cassia cinnamon (I like the good stuff)
1 Tbs ground flax
Sugar to taste (you may not need any if you are using a ripe banana…though I have a sweet tooth and end up using sugar)
Pinch of salt (don’t ask…its a secret of mine…I really think it brings out some of the flavors…but it’s probably my imagination)

Blend everything together and enjoyyyyy!!! …Also..if you like your smoothies a bit colder, add some ice cubes.
